A record Remembrance Stebbing 10

493 runners took to the streets of Stebbing and surrounding countryside, to take part in the 20th edition of the much loved Stebbing 10.

A crisp, sunny November day was the perfect stage for a historic result, with Scott Cousins (Springfield Striders) setting a course record with an impressive 51’12”. Springfield also won the male team award.

Not a course record but a great performance nonetheless came from Colchester Harriers’ Heidi Hogan-Steele, who won the women’s category. The ladies’ prize also went to Colchester.

Among the various awards, this year saw the debut of the Stebbing Villager Trophy, for the fastest man and woman living in Stebbing. Sarah Jones was fastest among the women, whereas our very own Gerard Geurts brought home the men’s prize.

GFDR would like to thank all those who volunteered before, during and after the race to make this great day possible. Some 40 members and friends came together to help in different ways, and this is the secret behind the race’s success.
